Cheryl's life lifts God up and her teaching helps me to see His sovereignty in the minutest details of life. She is totally transparent in sharing what God has done in her life. I find myself encouraged to walk more intimately with the Lord as she teaches from His Word.

Thanks so much for visiting Let's Talk online. We are grateful for the privilege to serve you.
Let's Talk Ministries is committed to encouraging and equipping the saints to be all the Lord intended them to be. Through the Word and testimony, Cheryl encourages the body of Christ to dream big. She teaches that the abundant life only comes as we understand how very much the Lord loves us. This knowledge will allow us in return to truly love Him. The Word tells us if we love Him, we will obey Him and to those that obey Him, He will manifest Himself in their lives. What a glorious promise!
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

Who is she?
The speaker
Cheryl’s passion is to talk about her Savior. Years ago, Cheryl realized that there was so much more to life than just living. Christ promised to give us an abundant life. After studying the subject more, she knew there was more and was determined to find it. Years later she is grounded in her faith, completely settled on the fact that God loves her and has a plan and a purpose for everyone’s life. His job (said respectfully) is to lead, guide and direct her into all truth. Walking in radical obedience to Him is the life of power, peace, freedom and unspeakable joy.
The Lord has opened up several avenues for her to share this awesome and liberating truth. Cheryl speaks at Ladies’ Retreats, universities, high schools, churches, grocery store lines, Wal-mart…..anywhere she sees a person who needs to know the love of Christ.
The author
Cheryl is expecting her first book to come out in the fall of 2007. Her Mentor and one of her pastors encouraged her to write the story she made up one night riding home from the beach with her niece and nephew. The dream was birthed. After finding the perfect illustrator, the Lord continued to open doors. She is within months of seeing it come to pass. The title is Gomer the Goo Man. This children’s book teaches children and parents that we need to step outside our comfort zone, try new foods and make friends with folks (or rather Goo people) that may talk or look different than you.
The singer
Cheryl doesn’t realize that most folks that sing in front of an audience are usually good singers. Since she doesn’t seem to realize this, it doesn’t stop her from bellowing out in song in the middle of a sermon. She stumbled across this new found freedom while teaching her little girls’ class at church on Wednesday nights. She loves to make up songs when teaching her “Daisies” and shares them with many adult audiences as well.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Holy Bible
I believe that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. I believe that holy men of God were moved by the Holy Spirit to write the very words of Scripture and that the whole Bible is without error.
The Trinity Godhead
I believe in the one, true and living God, the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. He is our Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer and Ruler of all things. He is all knowing, all powerful, infinite, eternal and unchangeable.
Creation
I believe that man was created by God and in the image of God. I believe that God created the heavens and the earth and all that was created.
Man
I believe that man (Adam and Eve) sinned and were separated from God. At this time sin entered the world and now is true of all mankind; A man must be born again by the Holy Spirit, or he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Satan
I believe that Satan is a person, the tempter and the author of sin. I believe that he will be eternally punished in the lake of fire.
Atonement for Sin
I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He is our sacrifice and that all who believe in Him are redeemed by His shed blood. I believe in the resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ where He sits at the right hand of God making intercession.
Salvation
I believe that salvation is the gift of God’s grace. It cannot be earned. It is a free gift to all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
Holy Spirit / The Christian Walk
I believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. He helps empower the believer to develop the character of Christ. I believe that we have a holy calling and we are to live under the control of the Spirit.
The Great Commission
I believe it is the Christian’s duty and honor to co-labor with Christ in seeking to fulfill the Great Commission in being ministers of reconciliation to a needy world.
Let’s Talk ministries is devoted to encouraging and equipping the body of Christ to fulfill the call on its life and to walk in unity and love for the saints so that the world will know that we are His.

Where was Cheryl Cannon born and raised
I was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, however my family moved to Mauldin, South Carolina when I was five years old. I have lived in the Greenville, South Carolina area all my life.
Has Cheryl traveled much?
I have been very blessed to see a lot of the world. I worked in the travel industry for 16 years before going into full time ministry. I have been to Europe, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean and all over America. But the best place I have ever been is Simpsonville, SC, because there is no place like home!
How did Cheryl come to know the Lord?
One night after waiting tables, the closing crew and I went bar hopping. This was a regular occurrence for me. After closing down two bars, we went back to one of my friend’s apartment to continue drinking. The conversation led to speaking about the huge change my sister had made in her life six months prior—she had become a Christian. One of the guys in the group was a minister’s son and started talking about the second coming of Christ. He stated that none of the group would go to heaven if the Lord was to return that night. In a drunken state, I quickly informed him that I would because I believed in God and Jesus. He responded back, “So what, the devils believe in God.”
Immediately, I knew that I had been deceived all these years. Having been taken to church as a child, I knew right from wrong, but had never made the relationship personal between Christ and myself. I assumed having a knowledge of Christ was enough. I turned to the group and told them I had to leave right then. I arrived home around 7:00 am that morning and told my sister what had happened. My sister told me she had been trying to tell me those truths and showed me some scriptures to read. I started looking at some of the scriptures and became more confused. I finally decided to go brush my teeth. (For those who have led the stupid life of excessive drinking, YOU KNOW THE COTTON MOUTH you have the following morning.) Standing in the mirror about to brush my teeth, I mumbled the simple but life changing prayer, “LORD, help me!”
That prayer was the beginning of a new life. The Lord did indeed help me and has continued to help and change me into the image of Christ. My love for the Lord grows deeper and deeper everyday.
How did Cheryl begin writing Children’s books?
I was returning from a family vacation and had my nephew and one of my nieces riding back home with me. They asked me to tell them a story and I made up Gomer the Goo Man. I shared the story with Tim, a pastor from my home church. He encouraged me to write the story down—I didn’t. Then the Lord sent another friend to encourage me, Sherry, who had also made up a story. We both challenged each other to get the story on paper and gave each other four weeks to get the story written—we both did the assignment. Later when I was sharing with Tim, he encouraged me to get the book published. Tim and his marketing company helped encourage and coach me throughout the process.
What other things does Cheryl do professionally besides writing books?
I speak at ladies’ retreats, breakfasts, luncheons, etc. I also do volunteer speaking/teaching at a local ladies’ shelter.
I enjoy marketplace ministry also. I teach customer service classes in Christian and secular businesses. My favorite presentation with the customer service classes is when I am allowed to incorporate the scriptures with the classes. Being led by Christ is the only way we will know how to properly treat anyone in the professional or personal arena.
What does Cheryl enjoy doing most?
Laughing!
What recreation does Cheryl enjoy?
I enjoy gathering anywhere my friends are. I love being with people, whether it’s at church, while playing sports or hiking, traveling, etc. Playing basketball in my driveway at home with my nieces and nephew is at the top of my list.
What does she do in her spare time?
I love meeting friends at STARBUCKS for a Frap and spending quality time with my family.
Where does Cheryl attend church?
I attend Mt. Zion Christian Fellowship. I teach the “Daisies” on Wednesday night. (Daisies are 5-7 year old little girls)
Who would she say have been major influences in her spiritual growth?
Two of my favorite saints of old are George Muller and Andrew Murray. These two gentlemen were radical in their faith and pursuit of holiness. They were totally surrendered to the will of Christ. Their lives are awesome examples of what the Lord will do in the life of a person whose heart is totally His. When I read about their lives I am encouraged to trust the Lord more and more.
Presently, some of the most influential people to me are Billy and Ruth Graham. Their lives reflect integrity and character!
Two great women that have taught me much are Joyce Meyer and Beth Moore. I think these two women are awesome and greatly used of God because they have been through the fire and have come out as gold.
And last, but certainly not least, my Mama
What will Cheryl be doing next?
The book of Daniel tells us that the people who know their God will do GREAT EXPLOITS. So, I am hoping to do some “great exploits.” I’m still learning about what exactly a great exploit is….but I know for sure I want to know my Lord more and more and with that knowledge, it seems to be part of the package—getting to do some great exploits.
What would Cheryl say is her greatest asset in her Christian life?
I have great grace towards folks who have “messed up.” When I look at the ten commandments, I realize in some form or fashion, I have failed on all accounts. If we were to get really honest with ourselves I think we would all say we have missed the mark. The Lord promises to take those messes and turn them into messages if we will give them to Him. It is my heart’s desire to help others not walk the road of mistakes I have made. And that will only come as I am transparent and honest about who I was. Thank the Lord; He is forever in the business of forgiving and leading us into victory.
What is a fun fact Cheryl likes to tell about herself?
I have a Grandma Walton. She’s my mom’s mom! And she has been my greatest reason for hurrying and getting my first book published. Her exact words to me concerning my book being printed were, “Hurry up, I want to see it before I go.” That statement got my attention and got me on the ball. I love my Grandma Walton!

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Listen to a sample of Cheryl’s teaching on fear titled “What is the Roach in Your Life?”
In this teaching Cheryl explains that we have not been given the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
Over and over we are told in the Bible to NOT fear but to be strong and courageous. Christ came to give us an abundant life full of courage and boldness. We have been given the victory through the blood of Jesus. But many of the precious promises of God are not realized in our lives because we aren’t aware of our inheritance as His children.

Customer Service Classes
Marketplace ministry.
There is no better place to be a missionary than in the marketplace. While on earth Christ made it very clear that He came not to be served but to serve and give Himself a ransom for many. Christ is our example for every area of our life. There are times when we compartmentalize our life. We have a church life and we have a business life—this shouldn’t be. Everything we do in this life should be a form of worship to our Lord. Hence, we should take Christ into the work place.
Christ told us to occupy until He returns. Understanding that it is God’s design for us to serve and to work will change what we do from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Our one day seminar incorporates the Word of God to give power to your associate. Many customer service seminars stop short of telling how it is possible to serve others. It is only as we allow Christ to live in and through us that we can work unto Him and truly serve others.
After 11 years in the customer service department of one of the largest travel agencies in America, Cheryl knows much about dealing with customers. She uses real life examples and humor to show ways to enjoy serving others in corporate America.
In the Customer Service class we review some of the fundamental truths of business. Many of theses simple, yet life-changing truths can take your business to the next level in customer service and productivity.
The first commandment in business is to treat others as you would have them treat you. Clients are loyal to vendors that treat them well.
When we treat others like we want to be treated, repeat business is a given. Also, a happy client is the best means of advertisement.
In the seminar we discuss the value of a client knowing that they are significant to your company. Without this, a client will find someone who values their business.
In this high tech society, the corporate world has lost touch with the face-to-face type of business from yester- year. We do most of our business via email or phone. Because of this, it is very important how we handle our clients on the phone.
The class will focus on phone etiquette from the greeting to closing. It covers how to handle the problem caller, taking the problem off of the client’s desk and ownership of the inquiry. It teaches associates how to make the client feel appreciated and valued by your company.
- Standard Greeting
- Placing a client on hold / transfers/ returning to a client
- How to never say never, no, I can’t and I don’t know
- Take the problem off the client’s desk
- Wrapping up & closing a call

Let’s Talk Customer Services Seminars are done from a Biblical perspective. Our classes help your associates have the tools that are needed to take your business to a higher level in customer service. Some of the topics discussed in class are:
- Professional phone etiquette
- Handling angry clients
- The importance of documenting and recapping a call
